Hey there shipmates, it's that time again! Get this information out to all those in your address book, make a few phone calls, whatever it takes to let your buddies know that the party is going on. Even if you can't come this year, you can help by getting off your sorry behind and getting the word around! I hate running into someone off the Jimmy K. and hearing them say, "dang, I wish I had known everybody was getting together!"

If you've been to a Jimmy K. reunion before, you know how dang much fun it is. If you haven't been... well, my command of the language is inadequate to fully explain the sensation that comes along with a three day liberty call surrounded by a squirrelly bunch of mischievous, reprobate, shipmates from multiple generations of service on the same dang boat!  And in a city where no one knows you, too! Yee hah!

USS James K Polk Lapel Pins will be available at the reunion for $5:00 contact Mike Lame for how many you would like

Need some Jimmy K stuff? Click here to order your hats, t-shirts and other paraphernalia.

Update 2

I have been trying to figure out how to schedule  all the things I have planned for the reunion but even though we usually have great weather in Oct, all my activities are weather permitting.  So, At the beginning of the reunion , information and scheduling will be posted and updated daily.  I want it written very clear that the schedule and activities r subject to change.  AGAIN,  While at the reunion, the activities and times will be posted daily to inform everyone the activities for that day. Thursday there will be the sign in in the hospitality room.  If there any activities that need a sign in and payment  as there will be for the contests, they can all be done then.  At the sign in.   Weather permitting, on Friday, there will games on the beach.  A volleyball game,  washer toss game.  And if any of you old men r still standing, a relay race.

I have been going around asking restaurants if we can have discounts for our people and these places have been very helpful.  Myrtle Beach is a very patriotic town.

I have acquired discounts to Benjamins Calabash.  And Golden Coral to name 2.Large groups together would be easier for all concerned but not necessary. I will have a list posted at the reunion and direction

I am also hoping to have a nice bunch of items to raffle off.

OCTOBER IS AN EXTREMELY POPULAR MONTH IN MYRTLE BEACH.  EVERYTHING FILLS FAST

.  You may not get into a place you would like to eat at or activity you hope to do, if you wait to make reservations. DO IT NOW.  As I know they ladies would like to have a shopping spree, I have schedules a High Tea for lunch time on Friday.  And Margarettaville for Thursday.

the banquet will begin at the usual time but for a 1/2 hour it an hour.

Before the banquet.  There will be SHAG LESSONS.  This a Myrtle Beach dance born here. I can just hear all the comments you guys are going to hurl regarding the name of that dance. the will be DJ.  If u have a special song you want hi. To okay, send me the name now.  I have ordered a real wedding cruise ship party  Music list.

If there is anyone who intends to golf. Why? I don't know.  I can find out a package about that.

I have also acquired a discount for WATERWORKS.  Again especially if you plan to take your family to these places, let me try to Co ordinate that now.  SO YOU GET IN.

There will be a sign up for Friday night contests. Small price to enter.  One will be a beefcake  contest.  That's men in their bathing suits.

And a dancing with the stars contest.  I would appreciate sign ups for

that asap.   NY song you want to dance to.  please bring the song with

you or contact me and I will hunt it down and have it for you.  And of course our blue, gold games.
